As the Spin Begins

With the withdraw of Harriet Meirs nomination to the Supreme Court and the Indictment of Cheney's right hand. I though it would be a good time to bring back to the headlines a graphic I did during the last election.
The two big thinks you will probably hear from the parrots is that "There was no crime here ,these are just technocalities" and "people outside the beltway don't care about these things"
As from the new Court Nomination it will probably have more base lines then the Temptation

PANDEMIC

As an hiv positve man living with a compromised immune system. I live with the posibility that a bad flu, maybe the bird flu, would most likely take me out. But as I watch the bird flu begin it's march across the globe, One mutation away from a true pandemic. I started to think what we might learn about our health care system in it's response to the Crisis.
The first and most important thing I think we will learn is that the U.S. Heath Care System is a system designed for maximum profit and not for maximum benefit of We the People.
I believe we will learn that a Pandemic is a National Security Issue. Maybe even more so then that next AirCraft Carrier. If I'm not mistaken We do rule the Seas.
Will probably learn that all the money we spent on Bio-terrorism. Really wasn't very well spent with tons of sweetheart deals and no-bid contracts.
We will most likely learn that the threads of society and civility are much thinner and fragile then any of us believed.
Or maybe we will come together in a new sense of community and brotherhood and the common crisis will bring the world together in a new era of Peace and Love.
But hey, I'm just a Dreamer.

Kinda ironic, ain't it?

I find it kind of interesting with the recent Supreme Court nomination the conservatives sat giggling to themself " he don't have to answer shit" "Ginsberg! Rule, Ginsberg Rule!".
Now stand outraged demanding to know what this nominee thinks. I mean I can't blame them. If I had been trying to orchastrate a conservative take over of the judicial system how would I feel if the President, who happen to be in power at the time, nominated his brother-in-law Herb.

A Dirty Tale

Back in the early '80's when I first "came out" to family, friends and coworkers. I came out with what could only be called a vengence. Anyone who came within ear shot was either going to hear me speaking out on a gay subject or hear a gay oriented joke. I use to tell people the reason I was so open about being gay was because if I wasn't it would wipe out half my jokes.
Well one day while working in an auto part store, an amazingly macho and homophobic enviroment, a group of guys was standing near the time clock. It was 5 o'clock, change of shifts. Guy were coming into work and other where getting ready to leave for the day.
As the the conversation started to become about wives and sex, the store manager said to the group " Did anyone ever fuck their wife in the morning before the first piss when their dick is rock hard?" As the guys began to discuss the subject. I chimed in that " I don't know much about fucking a wife before the first piss in the morning, but what ever you do... never fuck anybody before their first shit!"
