Question for the President.

This is one question I would have liked to hear in the President's press confernce last night. "Mr.President with record high oil prices squeezing American comsumers and small businesses. While at the same time the oil Industry is posting record profits. Why Mr. President don't you "jawbone" the the Oil Company to lower prices for the good of economic growth for all?"

Movie Theater

The Link here and on the sidebar for the Movie Theater is a site where Iv'e posted a couple movies I made using a program called Muvee and a couple songs from a rather famous artist and a bunch of pictures I found on the internet. Now I'm far from a lawyer so I have no Idea what laws I might not be living up to the spirit of. But In my defense. There is No money being made from these productions and they are SOLELY for the purpose of sharing among Friends. I think they are pretty cool and I hope you enjoy them.

Social Security

I think I have a solution for Social Security that can make everybody happy. First remove the cap on Income eligible to be taxed under the present system. There is no way Ross Perot should be only paying taxes on the first $90k. This will make the left happy because we are raising taxes and only the top few parcent. Because no matter how you look at it the Social Security system is funded mostly on the backs of the lower incomes. The second idea to make the right happy is reduce the contribution made by small businesses. The extra tax burden for small businesses that create the most jobs in this country should be reduced. The Right is always looking to reduce taxes on business. I'm sure there are some number crunchers out there will tell me it won't be enough or I'm Just trying to soak the rich. but it is the rich that have benifited the most these last 4 years and it is the lower income levels that have taken the brunt of falling wages and stagnant job growth. and will continue to suffer the budget cuts that everyone will continue to come, and it sounds like a fair start.

Hiv Contradictions

If in June of 2004 the President George W. Bush announced this: "President Bush visited Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, June 23, 2004 to discuss the need for providing treatment to Americans living with HIV/AIDS, and to highlight the work of faith-based and community organizations as they seek to treat and care for Americans living with HIV/AIDS. The President announced:
Immediate availability of $20 million in new funding to deliver life-saving drugs to the men and women in the United States living with HIV/AIDS who are waiting today for HIV-related medication;
Support for the reauthorization of the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act based upon the principles of focusing Federal resources on life-extending care; ensuring flexibility to target resources to address areas of greatest need; and ensuring results;:
Then why is this kind of stuff happening? "The Kansas City, Mo., metropolitan region this year will receive $454,000 less than last year in federal Ryan White CARE Act funding for services for low-income HIV-positive people, the Kansas City Star reports. In 2003, the number of HIV-positive people in the region increased by 138 to 4,346, with more than 1,500 eligible for care and services under the Ryan White CARE Act (Knox, Kansas City Star, 4/25) or this? "Days filled with medication, worry: Many fear more HIV/AIDS drug cuts": New Hampshire's AIDS Drug Assistance Program -- which provides medications to low-income, uninsured and underinsured HIV-positive residents -- last year for the first time restricted the types of drugs covered by the program, the Monitor reports. Although antiretroviral drugs are still covered under the program, other drugs that treat or prevent medication side effects or other AIDS-related diseases are no longer covered." We always hear about grand words about the administration commitment to combating HIV/AIDS but every story I hear talks about cuts in programs and services. We hear about the president to pledge of 15 Billion dollars to fight aids worldwide but more and more people are on waiting list for meds in this country. I believe PWA and HIV should lobby the drug companies to use pressure on congress to expand drug assistants program. I'm sure they'd be willing since they probably charge top dollar for the meds to the state programs anyway. And it's no secret the the pharmasutical industry owns Congress.

The Pole question

The pole question you see on this page has two purposes. First to see if I could add it this thing and second the question comes from one that struck me the other day like a lightning bolt from above. Would Jesus Christ approve of George W. Bush? First ,I need to say that I am a man brought up without any Religious influence what so ever, but I always had an interest in the stories and the lessons it tries to teach pretty much all religions belief system have the same basic rules and their share of nutjobs that use faith as a weapon. And I've read some of the stories from the bible, Not the kind of book you'd want to have taught in schools. Especially the Old testament. That's when God was a strict God, a vengeful God, not afraid to use blanket justice, Hater of sin. But them came Jesus. The Loving God, the defender of the weakest, forgiver of sin and antagonist to the Powerful. So with that in mind I been hearing so much these about the Christian Right and listening them talk about the issues and some of Hateful language they us I started to see some irony in the use of "Christian" Right. I rarely ever here anything about the meek or those in poverty. Well acually that not actually true I see articles quite often about programs being cut. Because everyone knows we definitely need another aircraft carrier to fight the War on Terror. But I'm Starting to get into a rant back on point. The poll question. So with George Bush leading a movement that seem better referred to as the Old testament Right. Would Christ Approve of George W. Bush?
