Through out the Cold War the United states and the Soviet Union fought or funded or supplied many proxy wars across the globe. In Afghanistan We supplied the surface to air missiles that shot down many Soviet helicopters. In Nicaragua we funded the freedom fighters against the communistsIn neither of these situations, especially Afghanistan where our weapons killed Russian soldier, did it start a war between the US and the USSR.So why are we so shocked that Iran may be funding or supplying "insurgents" in Iraq? And is that grounds for War?
